Showcase Players Jr. (6th – 8th)
Showcase Players Jr. is designed for middle school students with or without experience in theatre. Students will learn to work collaboratively, learn the art of stage character & development, choreography, voice projection while singing and speaking, props, and working with a set. They will learn body and spatial awareness on the stage as well as giving them the confidence and support to explore their talents. At the end of the program, students will showcase their new abilities on the stage.

Fall 2026: The Big One-Oh Jr.
Charley Maplewood has never been one for parties – that would require friends, which he doesn’t have. Well, unless you count his monster friends, but they’re only imaginary. But now that he’s turning ten—the big one-oh—he decides to throw a birthday party for himself, complete with a “House of Horrors” theme. Of course, things don’t work out as he plans. Will Charley be able to pull it together before the big one-oh . . . becomes the big OH-NO!?
Based on the beloved book, The Big One-Oh! JR. features lyrics by Academy Award-winner (Fame, Footloose) Dean Pitchford, the author of the novel; music by three-time Tony-winner Doug Besterman (The Producers, Fosse, Elf, Young Frankenstein), and a book by iTheatric’s award-winning playwright Timothy Allen McDonald (Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka, James and the Giant Peach).

Please be sure to register and submit your audition. Auditioning does not automatically enroll you in the show. Please plan to attend class even before roles are assigned. We’ll be learning music, choreography, and other elements of the production throughout the process, so every class is a valuable opportunity to learn, participate, and prepare for the show. Auditions are due: August 14, 2026 by 9pm Auditions are a video recording of you singing a one-minute song of your choice. Please slate: state your name, age, roles interested in, and what song you are singing. Complete an audition form and upload in the Dropbox as well. Payment and Refund Policy
All monies paid toward Florida Academy of Performing Arts programs are non-refundable. If special circumstances force a student to drop out before the end of the program, the program fee will be pro-rated and the balance will be held as credit on your account to be used for merchandise or other programs.

Anti-Bullying Policy
FAOPA has instituted policies and procedures to combat bullying and bullying behavior, which may include but not be limited to name calling, harassment of another student causing physical or verbal harm, and any negative behavior that is repetitive and intentional. While FAOPA will not tolerate bullying of any kind, all incidents will be evaluated individually to determine a resolution. If any incident warrants the removal of the child from the program, we will not issue a refund and special consideration will need to be made to allow the child to participate in future FAOPA programs.
