F.I.R.E. Competition Team (ages 8 – 18)
We are so excited to announce that beginning August 2023, a new program will begin at Florida Academy of Performing Arts. FAOPA F.I.R.E.stands for Focused Individuals Reaching Excellence. We have created this group as an intermediate competition team who will compete on a more local basis with a musical revue and will also have growing opportunities through workshops and masterclasses at these competitions. This group will focus on harmonizing, embodying a character, dance, acting though song, and putting together a piece as a unified team on a competitive level.
Our competition team competes on a National Level against high caliber groups who spend multiple hours a week preparing all year for a 15-minute piece. This group is going to train performers emotionally, physically, and mentally to grow their talents and challenge themselves personally so that if they aspire to be a part of the competition team, they feel more equipped. We will compete in Spring 2024 and our goal is to keep this group together until May with an in-house showcase at the end of the season.
Rehearsals will begin August 15 and we’ll meet every Tuesday 5pm-6pm with some additional rehearsals throughout the year. Please feel free to ask us any questions you may have. We are very excited for this new group and all of the opportunities it will bring to these ambitious performers.
