F.I.R.E. Competition Team (ages 8 – 18)
Introducing the FIRE Team!
The FIRE Team, which stands for Focused Individuals Reaching Excellence, was established in August 2023 at FAOPA as an intermediate competition group. Designed to challenge and grow performers, FIRE competes regionally with musical revues and condensed Broadway productions, and has already garnered recognition, winning awards both for their group ensemble productions and individual performances.
Not only in rehearsals at FAOPA, but also through participating in master classes and workshops at competitions, members have the opportunity to hone their skills, with a strong focus on harmonizing, embodying character, dance, acting through song, and working as a unified team to put together a high-level performance.
The team competes against other high-caliber groups, pushing each member to grow emotionally, physically, and mentally. FIRE isn’t just about performance; it’s about preparing individuals for the challenges of being a competitive performer, ensuring that they are equipped to meet the demands of any stage.
From August to May, the team works together, constantly striving to improve and challenge themselves, so that those who aspire to join the competition team in the future, feel fully prepared to step on to the competition team with confidence and excellence. Their impressive track record of awards speaks to the dedication and talent of each member, both as part of the ensemble and as individual performers.

Audition for our Nationally Award-Winning F.I.R.E. Competition Team! Virtual Auditions are due May 20, 2026 by 7pm. Please read all the Audition Requirements – make sure to submit everything required. Click Below for Audition Requirements.

All auditioning students should prepare the following materials:
- One Minute Audition Song: Choose a song that showcases your vocal ability. Please keep your performance to one minute.
- One Minute Monologue: Select a monologue that highlights your acting skills. Ensure that your monologue and song are contrasting to demonstrate your range and versatility.
- Resume: Include a resume detailing your performance experience, training, and any related skills.
- Headshot: Provide a recent headshot. It does not need to be professional, but it should clearly represent your appearance.
- Audition Form: Complete the following form so we may have the correct contact information.
- Dance Audition: Please email Danielle@faopa.org for dance audition information.
- Eligibility Requirement: Students should have been involved in at least one previous FAOPA production.
You will submit the following into the Audition Dropbox – Submissions folder: Audition Song, Monologue, Resume, Headshot, and Dance Audition. Please label all your submissions with your name. You will complete the audition form through the Audition Form link.
